Chamberlain was the daughter of the flight coordinator Sophia Pinetree Chamberlain, and artist Michael John Chamberlain, on May 22, 2001 in San Bruno, California. Chamberlain is the only daughter of her parents. They divorced when she was just five years old. Chamberlain stated that her family was struggling financially throughout her childhood despite growing up in San Francisco. Chamberlain explained that the family relied heavily on her father's artistic talents and had to endure "hard times" after his death.
