BellamyBellamy Young (born Amy Maria Young 19 February 1970)[1she is an American actor, producer, and performer, most well-known for her performance as Melody "Mellie" Grant in the ABC drama show Scandal (2012-2018). The actress was awarded her 2014 Critics'' Choice Television Award for the most outstanding supporting actress in a drama series. In 2019, she was a part of the cast as Prodigal Son on Fox. Young's acting career started with theatre. In 1997 she made her Broadway debut as Mary in the first production of The Life. Additionally to being her Broadway debut, she has been seen off Broadway as Mary in Stephen Sondheim's musical You Roll Along (1994) or Randy Newman's Faust (95-1996). The year 1995 was the year she made her TV debut in a recurring role on"The Other World," an NBC daytime soap opera Another World as Dr. Courtney Evans. She appeared in two parts of Law & Order, 1997 and 1998. In 1999 she made her film debut with an uncredited role on the crime-drama Black and White and later co-starred in several independent films. The mid-2000s saw her started appearing on a range of drama and comedy television showslike The Drew Carey Show and The X Files. From 2000 through 2011, Young made over 30 guest appearances on TV shows.
