The classical background of Summer Glau is what makes her an extremely skilled ballerina. She also has studies in tango and flamenco however it was her broken toe that ended her dancing career. Firefly did not last for more than one season, but it gained a huge audience. Whedon returned to the show many years later. Summer Glau was still getting high-quality work throughout the interim.
