She's worked at many of the top outlets across the globe. The journalist spent more than a decade writing about the sport for The Washington Post, including football, tennis, and basketball. Nichols has won two Emmy Awards during her nine-year period with ESPN as well as being featured on some of its most watched shows such as NFL Countdown or SportsCenter, changed to ESPN following 2004. She was also part of the network's Monday Night Football broadcasts as reporter on the sidelines. After she left ESPN, her next stop was CNN and Turner Sports. Unguarded by Rachel Nichols was the first show she produced and hosted. It aired on CNN International and CNN. The show had over a billion viewers across the globe. Nichols covered NBA shows on TNT, including the regular season, playoffs and All-Star broadcasts. Her duties for TBS covered golf and baseball coverage as well as Final Four broadcasts by CBS. The only woman to have been selected amongst more than 200 nominees over the long history of the award.
